Improving Lives, One Meal at a Time

Improving Lives, One Meal at a Time

Home Delivery Program

Meals on Wheels is a program that delivers meals Monday through Friday to individuals at home who are unable to prepare their meals. Because they are housebound, many of the recipients are the elderly.

Research shows that home-delivered meal programs significantly improve diet quality, increase nutrient intake, reduce food insecurity, and improve the quality of life among the recipients. The programs also reduce government expenditures by reducing the need for recipients to use hospitals, nursing homes, or other expensive community-based services.

Frozen meals are delivered during the week Saturday and Sunday from the Ossipee site, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Moultonborough. Whenever there’s bad weather, we try to prepare as best we can, and we deliver what is called a “blizzard bag” that contains a shelf stable meal that they can utilize whenever we can’t deliver.

Congregate Meals

Congregate Meals are Monday through Friday at the Ossipee Site and Monday through Thursday at our Moultonborough Site, and are served at Noon. All seniors 60 and over are welcome. We also have a Wednesday congregate in the town of Sandwich, and a seasonal congregate in Tamworth during warmer months on Wednesdays.

We host events such as bingo every Monday and cribbage every Thursday at our Ossipee site!
